The Prophecy of St. Nilus Concerning Our Time, 1900 Onward

Ladies and Gentlemen, we are living in very dangerous times. At Fatima, Our Lady warned through the children that war is a punishment for sin. Many prophecies warn of very great chastisements to come upon men if they don’t turn back to God. Following are some very grave prophecies contained therein. Also, I encourage you to read the Prophecies of Sr. Elena Aiello, also on this site, in another post. And now, the prophecy of St. Nilus, predicted 1500 years ago regarding our times. Uncanny accuracy!

We received from a Priest, one of our readers, the following prophecy of St. Nilus and this information about his life – TIA

Realizing that St. Nilus is scarcely known to a large part of the Church, a brief sketch of his life, taken from the Catholic Encyclopedia (1911 copyright edition), is related below:

St. Nilus was one of the many disciples and fervent defenders of St. John Chrysostom. He was an officer at the Court of Constantinople, married, with two sons. While St. John Chrysostom was patriarch, before his exile (398-403), he directed Nilus in the study of Scripture and in works of piety. St. Nilus left his wife and one son and took the other, Theodulos, with him to Mount Sinai to be a monk. The Bishop of Eleusa ordained both St. Nilus and his son to the priesthood. The mother and other son also embraced the religious life in Egypt.

From his monastery at Sinai, St. Nilus was a well-known person throughout the Eastern Church. Through his writings and correspondence, he played an important part in the history of his time. He was known as a theologian, Biblical scholar and ascetic writer, so people of all kinds, from the Emperor down wrote to consult him.

His numerous works, including a multitude of letters, consist of denunciations of heresy, paganism, abuses of discipline and crimes. He also wrote about rules and principles of asceticism, especially maxims on the religious life. He warns and threatens people in high places, Abbots and Bishops, Governors and Princes, even the Emperor himself, without fear. He kept up a correspondence with Gaina, a leader of the Goths, endeavoring to convert him from Arianism. He denounced vigorously the persecution of St. John Chrysostom both to the Emperor Arcadius and to his courtiers.

St. Nilus must be counted as one of the leading ascetic writers of the 5th century. His feast is kept on November 12th in the Byzantine Calendar; he is commemorated also in the Roman Martyrology on the same date. St. Nilus probably died around the year 430, as there is no evidence of his life after that. And now, here is the prophecy:

After the year 1900, toward the middle of the 20th century, (our days), the people of that time will become unrecognizable. When the time for the Advent of the Antichrist approaches, people’s minds will grow cloudy from carnal passions, and dishonor and lawlessness will grow stronger. Then the world will become unrecognizable.

People’s appearances will change, and it will be impossible to distinguish men from women due to their shamelessness in dress and style of hair. (Women dress like men, which is strongly condemned in Deut. 22:5). These people will be cruel and will be like wild animals because of the temptations of the Antichrist. There will be no respect for parents and elders, love will disappear, and Christian pastors, Bishops and priests will become vain men, completely failing to distinguish the right-hand way from the left.  At that time, the morals and traditions of Christians and of the Church will change. People will abandon modesty, and dissipation will reign. Falsehood and greed will attain great proportions, and woe to those who pile up treasures. Lust, adultery, homosexuality, secret deeds and murder will rule in society.

Apostasy : At that future time, due to the power of such great crimes and licentiousness, people will be deprived of the grace of the Holy Spirit, which they received in Holy Baptism and equally of remorse. The Churches of God will be deprived of God-fearing and pious pastors, and woe to the Christians remaining in the world at that time; they will completely lose their faith because they will lack the opportunity of seeing the light of knowledge from anyone at all. Then they will separate themselves out of the world in holy refuges in search of lightening their spiritual sufferings, but everywhere they will meet obstacles and constraints. And all this will result from the fact that the Antichrist wants to be Lord over everything and become the ruler of the whole universe, and he will produce miracles and fantastic signs. Telephones, airplanes, and submarines: He will also give depraved wisdom to an unhappy man so that he will discover a way by which one man can carry on a conversation with another from one end of the earth to the other. At that time men will also fly through the air like birds and descend to the bottom of the sea like fish. And when they have achieved all this, these unhappy people will spend their lives in comfort without knowing, poor souls, that it is deceit of the Antichrist. And, the impious one! – he will so complete science with vanity that it will go off the right path and lead people to lose faith in the existence of God in three hypostases. The coming chastisement: Then the All-good God will see the downfall of the human race and will shorten the days for the sake of those few who are being saved, because the enemy wants to lead even the chosen into temptation, if that is possible… then the sword of chastisement will suddenly appear and kill the Perverter and his servants.

There are great chastisements threatened against mankind because of our many sins. The Blessed Mother warned at Fatima in 1917 of  ’’several entire nations being annihilated.’’ At Akita, Japan she warned through Sister Sasagawa “fire coming down from heaven, and a great part of humanity would not survive.” To Sr. Elena Aiello she said, ‘’70 hours of lightning flashes of fire will come down upon the earth.’’  Which ties in with the 3 days of darkness prophecies which say, “There will be 3 days of darkness, and fire will come down from heaven, and two thirds of mankind will perish.’’ Zacharias 13:8-9, ‘’Two thirds of the people will perish…and one third will be brought through the fire.’’ Many of the saints predicted the 3 days of darkness. Look online.  Christina Gallagher, a mystic in Ireland, predicted the 911 two years before it happened. Ten years later she had another prophecy about America. She said she witnessed a great bomb hitting America, and a big earthquake. Also, civil war would break out in America. She said we have nests of foreigners in the U.S. Colonel Jim Ammerman said several years ago, ‘’We have more foreign troops in the U.S. than American troops.’’  And what did Elizabeth Caori Mora say? “Woe to the religious who does not observe his rule! I say the same to the secular clergy and to all people in the world who give themselves to a life of pleasure and who believe in the false maxims of modern ideas.”  On Christmas Eve 1813, Elizabeth was transported in ecstasy to a place refulgent with light. There she saw countless saints in adoration before a humble manger. The Infant Jesus signaled her sweetly to approach, but on drawing near she saw that He was soaking with His own Blood.  “Just the thought of it fills me with horror” she wrote. “But at the same time I understood the reason for such shedding of blood was the bad habits of many priests and religious who do not behave according to their state in life and the bad education given to children by their fathers, mothers and others entrusted with this duty. They, who should increase the spirit of the Lord in the hearts of others by their good example, instead mortally persecute Him with their bad conduct and teachings.”

On January 16, 1815, angels showed her “many ecclesiastics who persecute Jesus Crucified and His holy Gospel under the guise of doing good…Like furious wolves they scheme to pull the Church leader down from his throne.” Then she was allowed to see the terrible indignation these wolves aroused in God. “In terror I saw the blazing lightening bolts of Divine Justice fall about me. I saw buildings collapsing in ruins. Cities, regions and the whole world fell into chaos. One heard nothing but countless weak voices calling out for mercy. Countless people will be killed.”  What terrified her the most was God’s anger. She saw Him “extremely angry with those who persecute Him. His omnipotent hands were holding bolts of lightening, His face was resplendent with indignation and His gaze alone was enough to incinerate the whole world.” The vision lasted but an instant, whereupon she recalled, “had it continued for another moment I surely would have died.”

Blessed Anna-Maria Taigi spoke of this restoration in the following manner: “After the three days of darkness, Saints Peter and Paul, having come down from heaven, will preach throughout the world and designate a new pope. A great light will flash from their bodies and will settle upon the cardinal, the future Pontiff. Then Christianity will spread throughout the world. Whole nations will join the Church shortly before the reign of Anti-Christ. These conversions will be amazing. Those who shall survive shall have to conduct themselves well. There shall be innumerable conversions of heretics, who will return to the bosom of the Church; all will note the edifying conduct of their lives, as well as that of all other Catholics. Russia, England, and China will come to the Church.”

The prophet Isaiah also spoke of a day of darkness: Behold, the day of the Lord shall come, a cruel day, and full of indignation, and of wrath, and fury, to lay the land desolate, and to destroy the sinners thereof out of it. For the stars of heaven, and their brightness shall not display their light: the sun shall be darkened in his rising, and the moon shall not shine with her light. And I will visit the evils of the world, and against the wicked for their iniquity: and I will make the pride of infidels to cease, and will bring down the arrogancy of the mighty. (Isaiah 13: 9-11)

Let us pray, convert, and do penance, lest we ourselves experience the dreadful prophecy: “When pictures look alive, with movements free (television, movies), when ships like fishes swim beneath the sea (submarines), when men, outstripping birds can soar the sky (airplanes),  then half the world deep drenched in blood will die.’’ From the book, WORLD ENSLAVEMENT OR PEACE, IT’S UP TO THE POPE.

What can we do? We can pray the rosary for protection, and grace to live in God’s friendship. Read; MY SPECIAL PROTECTION at this link. MotherofGodlibrary.org/2019/06. We should wear the brown scapular of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, which has a promise of salvation for those who die wearing it, and also carries a special protection for those who wear it. Look up: Scapular stories for proof of this. Also, we should fast, we should do some voluntary penance. We should always dress modestly, and avoid profanity like the plague. “The immodest shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Gal. chap. 5; and “But now put you also all away: anger, indignation, malice, blasphemy, filthy speech out of your mouth. ‘’ Col. 3:8. All filthy speech, he says. What does cursing and profanity bring? Evils. “He that hath no guard over his speech, shall meet with evils.’’ Proverbs 13:3. And a curse on the home. “A man that sweareth much, shall be filled with iniquity, and a scourge shall not depart from his house.” Ecclus. 23:12. A MAN CURSES HIS OWN HOME.  How can God bless the man and his family when he tells God to damn this and to damn that all the time? “As a man shall sow, so shall he reap.’’ If he sows potatoes, he gets potatoes. If he sows corn, he gets corn. If he sows curses, he gets curses. If he sows blessings, he gets blessings?

Count the leaves if you can. “A sinner who goes to hell will be in hell a year for every leaf on every tree in the world.’’ – St. Anthony Mary Claret. Think about that the next time you’re driving down the road, and looking at all the trees.

Prayer for salvation: O Lord, I’m living in a wicked world, surrounded by dangers that lead to perdition. I am like a child not knowing how to walk on, or follow the true  way. Give, therefore, to thy servant, an understanding heart, to discern between good and evil. Make me understand how great an evil sin is, and how great a good it is to love Thee above all things. Give me a great hatred of sin, the gift of devout prayer, and make me lost Thee most ardently to the end of my life.
