Roadmap to Heaven

How do I get to heaven? We must know God. We must serve God. We must love God, in the true Church. “The Lord added daily to the Church, such as should be saved.” Acts 2:47. Which Church is that? The Apostles, in The Apostles Creed, said, “I believe in the holy Catholic Church.” Look up Apostles Creed online. Also Search, List of Popes, which shows the Church goes back to Peter. How do I get the grace to be saved? Specific Means: Ask for it. Jesus said, “Ask and you shall receive.”

1) We must pray much. “He who prays shall be saved. He who prays not shall be condemned.” – St. Alphonsus. Especially the rosary. Mary’s 15th Promise: Devotion to my rosary is a great sign of predestination.

2)We must receive Jesus in the Eucharist, St. John chap. 6; St. Matt. 26:26-28; and 1Cor. 10:16 & chap.11 – St. Paul. Jesus said if we don’t receive him in the Eucharist, we would have no life in us, St. Jn. 6:54,55.

3)We must be baptized. Jesus said if we are not born again of water and the Holy Ghost, we cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven, St. Jn. 3:5.

4) We must confess our sins. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all iniquity.” 1 John 1:9.

5) We must keep his commandments. “If thou wilt enter life, keep my commandments. “ St. Matt. 19:17.

6) We must dress modestly, properly covered and not too tight. “The immodest shall not inherit the kingdom of heaven.” Gal. 5:19-21, drbo.org

7)We must cease from all evil talk. “Let no evil speech proceed from thy mouth.” Eph. 4:29. No ‘’bridle on the tongue’’ makes our religion vain, St. James 1:26; and brings down evils upon our head: “He that hath no guard over his speech, shall meet with evils.” Proverbs 13:3. No filthy speech. “Put away all filthy speech out of your mouth.” Col. 3:8.

8) Avoid places of sin. Bad movies, tv, bad internet, taverns, night clubs, etc. Occasions of sin. “Evil communications corrupt good manners.” 1 Cor. 15:33.

9) Keep the commandments. Do not take God’s Holy Name in vain. Do not go to a  false church to worship. Keep holy the Sabbath. No working ( Numbers 15:31-36, man stoned to death); no commercializing (Nehemiah 10:31). Honor your parents, pray for them and take care of them. No murder, no lust, no fornication nor adultery. No stealing, no false witness (lying) against your neighbor. Do not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his goods.

10) Lastly, good spiritual reading and videos. “Attend to reading,” St. Paul told Timothy, 1 Tim. 4:13. The Holy Bible, Lives of the Saints, Good Catechisms. Spiritual reading is a light to our souls. “Thy word is a lamp to my feet.” Ps. 118:105. “For thou art my lamp, O Lord, and thou, wilt enlighten my darkness.“ 2 Kings or Samuel, 22:29. “When we pray, we speak to God. When we read, God speaks to us.” – St. Jerome.

Be devoted to Mary. In the 2nd century, St. Ignatius said, “A devout client of Mary shall not perish.” She told St. Dominic about 800 years ago : “One day through the rosary and scapular I will save the world.” Finally, remember your last end: Death, Judgement; Salvation, or Damnation. “In all thy works remember thy last end, and thou shalt never sin.” Ecclus. 7:40. This is your roadmap to heaven. Heed it, and you will be saved. “All those in hell did not correspond to God’s grace. All those in heaven did.
