We Must Serve the Lord and Observe His Commandments, Or Evil Befalls Us

‘’And he did that which was pleasing before the Lord, according to all that his father Amasias had done. But, the high places he did not destroy: for the people sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places. And the Lord struck the king, so that he was a leper unto the day of his death…’’ 4 Kings 15:3-5.

Struck with leprosy because , even though he served the Lord, he was also guilty of a grave omission!

17:13- 41: ‘’ And they burnt incense there upon altars after the manner of the nations which the Lord had removed from their face: and they did wicked things, provoking the Lord. [12] And they worshipped abominations, concerning which the Lord had commanded them that they should not do this thing. [13] And the Lord testified to them in Israel and in Juda by the hand of all the prophets and seers, saying: Return from your wicked ways, and keep my precepts, and ceremonies, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers: and as I have sent to you in the hand of my servants the prophets. [14] And they hearkened not, but hardened their necks like to the neck of their fathers, who would not obey the Lord their God. [15] And they rejected his ordinances and the covenant that he made with their fathers, and the testimonies which he testified against them: and they followed vanities, and acted vainly: and they followed the nations that were round about them, concerning which the Lord had commanded them that they should not do as they did.

[16] And they forsook all the precepts of the Lord their God: and made to themselves two molten calves, and groves, and adored all the host of heaven: and they served Baal. [17] And consecrated their sons, and their daughters through fire: and they gave themselves to divinations, and soothsayings: and they delivered themselves up to do evil before the Lord, to provoke him. [18] And the Lord was very angry with Israel, and removed them from his sight, and there remained only the tribe of Juda. [19] But neither did Juda itself keep the commandments of the Lord their God: but they walked in the errors of Israel, which they had wrought. [20] And the Lord cast off all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, till he cast them away from his face: (Afflicted them, and delivered them into the hands of the spoilers, because of their sins. They also, walked in the errors of the people, as fallen away Catholics do today). As the Blessed Mother told the children of Fatima in1917: “War is a punishment for sin.” The violation, and profanation of Sunday was one of the three principal causes of the first world war. How many Catholics have fallen away from the Church, and no longer go to Mass? THE MONKEY UNDER THE BED, https://tinyurl.com/ynfkftbh. An excerpt from THE MONKEY UNDER THE BED, “St. Padre Pio, who died in 1968, bore the wounds of Jesus Christ in his body for 50 years, “the marks of the Lord Jesus in his body,” Gal. 6:17. He had the gift of reading hearts in the confessional, and many other gifts including looking into the other world when God wanted to reveal something to him. One day a young lawyer went to confession to him, and after confessing, asked St. Pio about his grandfather who had died 4 years previously. His grandfather was a surgeon, and St. Pio told the young lawyer that because of his grandfather’s many good works, he was already enjoying the eternal vision of God. Then the man asked St. Pio about his other grandfather who had died 15 years before. The young man said his grandfather was an indifferent man. He would say, “Why should I go to Mass on Sundays? I prefer going out into nature and praying in the open air or at home! (But people who speak that way seldom do it). Why should I go to confession. I did not steal anything. I did not kill anybody.” With a trembling voice and quite excited, Father Pio said these dreadful words: “I cannot even look at him, he is so dreadfully ugly. He wallows in the eternal flames.”

[21] Even from that time, when Israel was rent from the house of David, and made Jeroboam son of Nabat their king: for Jeroboam separated Israel from the Lord, and made them commit a great sin. [22] And the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam, which he had done: and they departed not from them, [23] Till the Lord removed Israel from his face, as he had spoken in the hand of all his servants the prophets: and Israel was carried away out of their land to Assyria, unto this day. [24] And the king of the Assyrians brought people from Babylon, and from Cutha, and from Avah, and from Emath, and from Sepharvaim: and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof. [25] And when they began to dwell there, they feared not the Lord: and the Lord sent lions among them, which killed them.

[26] And it was told the king of the Assyrians, and it was said: The nations which thou hast removed, and made to dwell in the cities of Samaria, know not the ordinances of the God of the land: and the Lord hath sent lions among them: and behold they kill them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land.  Why were they ignorant? Because sin blinds the heart. “Their own malice blinded them.”Wisdom 2:21. Drbo.org.   The priest is sent to teach them the right way. ‘’ For the lips of the priest shall keep knowledge, and they shall seek the law at his mouth: because he is the angel of the Lord of hosts.’’ Mal. 2:7

[27] And the king of the Assyrians commanded, saying: Carry thither one of the priests whom you brought from thence captive, and let him go, and dwell with them: and let him teach them the ordinances of the God of the land. [28] So one of the priests who had been carried away captive from Samaria, came and dwelt in Bethel, and taught them how they should worship the Lord. [29] And every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the temples of the high places, which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities where they dwelt. [30] For the men of Babylon made Sochothbenoth: and the Cuthites made Nergel: and the men of Emath made Asima.

[31] And the Hevites made Nebahaz and Tharthac. And they that were of Sepharvaim burnt their children in fire, to Adramelech and Anamelech the gods of Sepharvaim. [32] And nevertheless they worshipped the Lord. And they made to themselves, of the lowest of the people, priests of the high places, and they placed them in the temples of the high places. [33] And when they worshipped the Lord, they served also their own gods according to the custom of the nations out of which they were brought to Samaria: [34] Unto this day they followed the old manner: they fear not the Lord, neither do they keep his ceremonies, and judgments, and law, and the commandment, which the Lord commanded the children of Jacob, whom he surnamed Israel: [35] With whom he made a covenant, and charged them, saying: You shall not fear strange gods, nor shall you adore them, nor worship them, nor sacrifice to them.

[36] But the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt with great power, and a stretched out arm, him shall you fear, and him shall you adore, and to him shall you sacrifice. [37] And the ceremonies, and judgments, and law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, you shall observe to do them always: and you shall not fear strange gods. [38] And the covenant that he made with you, you shall not forget: neither shall ye worship strange gods, [39] But fear the Lord your God, and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies. [40] But they did not hearken, but did according to their old custom.

[41] So these nations feared the Lord, but nevertheless served also their idols: their children also and grandchildren, as their fathers did, so do they unto this day.

Verse 39 says to fear the Lord your God, and he will deliver you out of the hands of your enemies. , [39] ‘’But fear the Lord your God, and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.’’ That means, fear him, and keep his commandments. A father does not discipline a good child.

If we go to war with Russia, it will be because of the sins of our nation.

You will find a similar lesson in Judith chapter 5,  where Achior gives Holofernes an account of the people of Israel. He tells him as long as the people of Israel were good, God protected them, and fought for them! But when they sinned, he withdrew his protection. A very valuable lesson for us.

No doubt we will be brought into another war. Our sons and daughters will die, because we did not listen tour Lady at Fatima when she told us through the children, ”Pray the rosary daily, do penance, amend your lives,” and “If my requests are heeded , there WILL BE PEACE, AND MANY SOULS WILL BE SAVED.” But we Catholics, who knew this message, did not heed, we did not listen, our ministers did not listen nor inform us, and so, our sins have increased to high heaven, and it is high time we began to wake up and listen.

At least a 105 women went in to the abortion mill two weeks ago, in Louisville, KY, and only five came back out. That means, a hundred little babies were murdered in the womb last week, and nothing was heard about it on the news! Did you hear any condemnation in the pulpit? But God is observing, and what did Mother Teresa say? She said, “If we tell people they can kill their own children, how can we tell them not to kill one another?” Why do you think there are so many murders in the cities? Well?

‘’OVER THEM THE DEVIL CAN PREVAIL…IN THE MARRIAGE BED’’ TOBIAS 6:17    MotherofGodlibrary.org.     May 2020 post

Our answer to the problems in the world today is Our Lady of Fatima, and the fulfillment of her requests. She told the children, after the horrible vision of hell, “You gave seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. In order to save them, God wishes to establish devotion to my Immaculate heart in the world. If what I ask is done, many souls will be saved, and the will be peace.” So the clergy should put Mary back in the homes of the people. As Fr. Patrick Peyton once said, “The reason the world is in such a mess is because we have taken the mother out of our homes. What happens when you take the mother out of the home? It soon begins to get untidy. And we have taken the Blessed Mother out of our homes. We no longer say the rosary like we should. We need to start saying the rosary again, and put Mary back in our homes.” So the Reverend Fathers, Bishops, and so forth, should be preaching Mary in their sermons, devotion to Mary, devotion to her rosary and brown scapular, the miraculous medal. Mary told the children at Fatima that devotion to her would save souls. St. Alphonsus in THE GLORIES OF MARY teaches that devotion to Mary is a moral necessity to be saved. St. Alphonsus has powerful stories after each chapter to show the value of being devoted to Mary. I recommend all clergy read that book. He says he wrote it especially for you, to furnish you matter for your sermons.

St. Louis de Montfort, in his world famous TRUE DEVOTION TO MARY, said that, “As the Holy Ghost used Mary to form the Head, Jesus Christ, He also uses her to form the body (the Church) and the members (which we are). He also taught devotion to Mary was morally necessary.

The clergy should also preach on the 15 promises. For example,  Number two she says, “I promise my special protection, and the greatest graces to all those who pray the rosary.” Is Mary’s protection not a good thing?  “I PROMISE MY SPECIAL PROTECTION”    https://tinyurl.com/2p8pnxv4. She says in another promise, “It will decrease sin,” praying the rosary every day. Is that not a good thing? Reverend Fathers, do you not wish to see your parishoners decrease sin in their lives? It will increase virtue, we will not die without the sacraments of the Church, it is a great sign of predestination, and many other things she promises. Reverend Fathers, is this not what you wish for your spiritual children? Then you should be preaching the rosary constantly , like Fr. Peyton did. Do not fear repeating yourself. St. Alphonsus said, “Men’s heads are like wood. You have to keep pounding things into them.” Why do you think St. Dominic had such success with souls? Because the Blessed and ever Virgin Mary taught him to preach the rosary to bring souls back to God, and he did so. She also taught him to pray the Hail Mary before his sermon, with the congregation, to make his sermons more fruitful, and that the congregation would get more benefit out of it. This advice was from the Blessed Mother herself.  Blessed Alan says: “All priests say a Hail Mary with the faithful before preaching, to ask for God’s grace. They do this because of a revelation that St. Dominic had from Our Lady.  “My son,” she said one day,  “do not be surprised that your sermons fail to bear the results you had hoped for. You are trying to cultivate a piece of ground which has not had any rain. Now when Almighty God planned to renew the face of the earth, He started by sending down rain from heaven – and this was the Angelical Salutation. In this way God made over the world. So when you give a sermon, urge people to say my rosary, and in this way your words will bear much fruit for souls.” From THE SECRET OF THE ROSARY, St. Louis de Montfort, Third Rose.

One of Mary’s other promises is a very important one. She says those who are faithful to her rosary will not fall into heresy. St. Paul told Titus that a heretic is condemned, because he goes by his own judgement rather than that of the Church. Titus chapter 3, drbo.org. Luther, like millions of Catholics today who have left the Church and joined protestant sects, Luther did not think he needed the Church. He thought he knew better than the Church. In 1883, Sister Maria Serafina Micheli (1849-1911), had a vision of Luther in hell. You can find it here: A Terrible Vision: Luther in Hell!  tinyurl.com/mvkzbwbr.

In the sad story of CRY OF A LOST SOUL, Our Lord invited her to go back to Mass again, and she rejected it.  “My death happened this way . . .”  “A week ago – I am speaking according to your reckoning, because according to pain, I could very well say that it is already ten years that I am burning in hell – a week ago, then, my husband and I, on a Sunday went on a picnic, the last one for me. The day was glorious. I felt very well. A sinister sense of pleasure that was with me all the day long, invaded me. When lo, suddenly, during the return, my husband was dazzled by a car that was coming full speed. He lost control.” “Jesus, used frequently by some people of German language – escaped from my lips with a shivering. Not as a prayer, but as a shout. A lacerating pain took hold of the whole of me. (In comparison with the present only a trifle). Then I lost consciousness. Strange! That morning this thought had come to me in an inexplicable way: ‘You could go to Mass once more’, It seemed like the last call of Love.”  “Clear and resolute, my ‘NO’ cut off that train of thought. You will know already what happened after my death. The lot of my husband and that of my mother, what happened to my corpse and the proceedings of my funeral are known to me through some natural knowledge we have here. What happens on earth we know only obscurely. But we know what touches us closely. I see also where you are living.”

“I myself awoke from the darkness suddenly, in the instant of my passing. I saw myself as flooded by a dazzling light. It was in the same place where my dead body was lying. It was like a theater, when suddenly the lights in the hall are put out, the curtains are rent aside and an unexpected scene, horrible illuminated, appears. The scene of my life.” “My soul showed herself to me as in a mirror; all the graces despised from my youth until my last NO to God. I felt myself like an assassin, to whom his dead victim is shown during his trial at court – Should I repent? Never! – Should I feel ashamed? Never!” “However, I could not even stand before the eyes of God, rejected by me. There was only one thing for me: flight! As Cain fled from the dead body of Abel, so my soul rushed from the sight of horror. This was the particular judgment: the invisible Judge said: ‘Away from Me’. Then my soul, as a yellow brimstone shadow, fell headlong into the place of eternal torture.”  Cry of a Lost Soul, And the Lesson that it Teaches,    olrl.org/doctrine/cry.shtml
