‘’THE FOOL SAYETH IN HIS HEART, THERE IS NO GOD.’’ –PSALM 13:1
The following question some will find amusing, but it is true. “How do you get an atheist in an airplane to believe in God? “ You push him out. Yes. If he doesn’t believe on the way down, he will believe when he hits the ground and he meets his Maker. He will be judged by the very one he denies, and condemned to hell forever, for refusing to acknowledge God as he is supposed to. Our Lord said, “He that believeth not shall be condemned.’ ’St. Mark chapter 16. Jesus Christ came to earth and took on flesh, that He might suffer for our sins and redeem us, and the sinner refuses to acknowledge and thank him for it. The Blessed Mother spoke to Venerable Mary of Agreda, and she said we were ingrates after all our Lord did for us, and we would not serve him as He deserves. There are no atheists in hell. There are many souls who no doubt went to hell for atheism, but after they were judged by Jesus Christ, and are now burning in hell for their sin of unbelief, they are no longer atheists. They know there is a God, and they know they are there for refusing to acknowledge him as they were supposed to do.
The atheist sometimes denies God because he doesn’t understand his ways. For example, one man said his sister was a good Christian, got very ill, prayed to God to heal her, and she died. Since God promised to hear the prayers of those who call upon him, and his sister died, then God must not be real. But let us hear the words of Our Lord to Sr. Josepha Menendez. ‘’Sometimes when a soul is weak, and it gets back in my friendship, I will go ahead and take it while it’s ready. If I let it live on, it will fall back into sin and lose its soul.’’ Since God knows all things, and can see the future and we cannot, then he knows what’s best. But to us, we cannot understand these things. There is a story on the movie COURAGEOUS where the little 9 year old girl gets killed by a drunk driver. The mother is crying, and says, “Why couldn’t it have been the drunk driver? Why did it have to be our little girl?’’ Well, if the drunk driver had died, he would have gone to hell, because the Bible says the drunkard shall not enter the kingdom of heaven. But the little girl is ready to meet God. But if she lived on to adulthood, who knows but God that she might have fallen into sin and lost her soul? However, the drunk driver may be brought to his senses after killing the little girl, repented, and gave up his drinking, and eventually save his soul. In this way, both were possibly saved. In the other way, both could be possibly damned.
Then again, too, it may have been a chastisement on the parents for only having 2 children in 15 years, a boy and a girl. I know of two families, one who only had 3 children, and the other two. The first family lost one of their children in a car accident around 16. The second family lost their son in a car accident at almost the same age, 16. Had these families been practicing birth control, which is forbidden by God? And also punished by God? ‘’ Juda, therefore said to Onan his son: Go in to thy brother’s wife and marry her, that thou mayest raise seed to thy brother. He, knowing that the children should not be his, when he went in to his brother’s wife, spilled his seed upon the ground, lest children should be born in his brother’s name. And therefore the Lord slew him, because he did a detestable thing.’’ Genesis 38:8-10. Juda didn’t want to raise up children, so he wasted his seed. Is that not what birth-controllers do? And God punished him severely for it. He slew him, and he most probably went to hell. Fr. Leslie Rumble, in RADIO REPLIES said: ‘’The seriousness of the punishment shows the seriousness of the crime.’’ Ironically, we see the same thing happen in the movie.
Secondly, some atheists say, “Who has ever seen God?” Well, actually, a lot of the saints saw him, and still do, in visions at certain times. The Blessed Mother was favored to see him many times while she lived on earth. However, just because we can’t see God doesn’t mean He doesn’t exist. A philosopher once asked an atheist, “Do you not believe in the sun just because you can’t see it at night?’’ An atheist denies God because he can’t see him, yet, ironically, he lives continuously on something invisible, air. Can you see the air you breathe? Can you see the wind that blows the trees? Can you see the air waves in your phone, on your TV, computer and satellites? What about the words that come out of your mouth? Can you see them? What about the words that come out of your neighbor’s mouth? Can you see them? Can you see the gravity that holds everything on the earth? Yet you know all these things exist, unless you are an idiot or an insane person not in your right mind. God has given us more than a thousand proofs that he exists. This is why St. Paul says he is inexcusable, and David in Psalms calls him a fool. Romans 1:20 says, ‘’For the invisible things of him, from the creation of the world, are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made; his eternal power also, and divinity: so that they are inexcusable.’’
Now I shall prove to you there is a God. First of all, St. Paul says those who do not believe in God are inexcusable. ‘’ [19] Because that which is known of God is manifest in them. For God hath manifested it unto them. [20] For the invisible things of him, from the creation of the world, are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made; his eternal power also, and divinity: so that they are inexcusable.’’ Romans chap. 1:20. St. Paul says we can see there is a God through the things he has made. Even in the natural order, there seems to be a power above the natural order. For example, in the natural order anything burning has to have a line or fuel to it to feed it to keep it going, or electricity, otherwise it will burn out eventually. Would not all agree this is true? If you have a fire, does not it eventually burn itself out? Now consider, the sun is extremely hot. It has been warming the earth for 7018 years.* Why has it not burnt out in all those years? This is a natural thing above nature. It proves there is a higher power, and this power is God. He has revealed himself. The atheist thinks if he can deny God, he has done away with him, and he will not have to answer for his sins. Even the demons believe, and tremble, says St. James, but they’re not saved, 2:19. But the demons want all men in hell with them. That’s why they incite some men to deny God, because they know what Jesus said, “ He that believeth not , shall be condemned.’’ St. Mark 16:16.
Again, everyone knows that water flows downhill because of gravity. We also know the world is round, not flat. Now what holds the water on the side of the world? By the law of gravity, it should roll off. However, there is a stronger power which is God that holds it on. This too, is gravity, but a much greater strength, to keep it from doing what it really ought to do, run off. The atheist is compelled to admit there is a powerful force holding it on, otherwise, he would be considered a lunatic. Yet some atheists do not want to acknowledge that this force comes from God, because of their sins, and they don’t want to admit someday they will be judged, and have to give an account of them. Nevertheless, they will be judged regardless and condemned, because they refused to acknowledge God as their Master, Lord, and King. They gravely insult him who made them, died on the cross to redeem them and open the gates of heaven for them, and who desired everlasting happiness for them in heaven. For all eternity. They despise the grace of the Holy Ghost. He did all this for them and they refuse to be grateful. They prefer their short pleasure of sin on earth, to the everlasting joys of heaven. The devil offers them short pleasures here on earth, which God forbids, in exchange for everlasting joy in heaven. Is that a good trade? St. James says, ‘’Your life is a vapour.’’ Would you trade a million dollars for five minutes with your buddies at a bar? No? Would you trade a mansion for an hour at a sinful movie? Would you trade a new car for a horse and buggy? Would you trade a year of rest and relaxation for ten years as a slave in a hot mine? Would you trade a billion dollars for a nickel? Would you give up your family, your home, your land, and everything you own for a night with a sinful woman? A sinful man? Yet men trade eternal happiness for a few short pleasures here on earth. Fr. Ronald Tangen says, “How stupid can we be? How darkened our intellect, how blinded our will! To condemn ourselves to hell for all eternity for 15 minutes of unlawful sexual pleasure, or by missing Mass for a football game on Sunday!
Some call themselves a humanist. Well, humanly speaking, explain how a piece of fruit comes out of a piece of wood. As Fr. Leslie Rumble said, speaking with an atheist, “Creation presupposes a creator.’’ Also, order, presupposes an orderer. Did your car make itself? Did your phone make itself? Your table? Your house? Did you make yourself? The very fact that a seed and an egg can unite to make a human person is a marvel in itself. Did your mom and dad figure that out? No, and nobody ever will. Everything created was made by someone, and the world and the universe was created by God. If a person denies that, they are a lunatic.
Where does the tree get the properties to produce an apple? If everything happened by chance, then why doesn’t the banana tree produce an apple sometime? Or maybe a tomato. Just think, if everything happened by chance, what kind of order would we have? None. Why doesn’t the cow have a pony? Why doesn’t the fish have a bird? Why doesn’t the elephant have a lion? And on and on we could go with endless questions, but the answer is, they have special properties built in each one to produce the same thing over and over again. Where did these properties come from? They didn’t get there by chance. How did they get those properties peculiar to each one, to keep on reproducing their own kind? A wise man says, “God did it.’’ A fool has no intelligent answer.

Look at all the order in the world. The sun rises and sets every day. Therefore we have day, and then we have night. Do you think you will wake up tomorrow and it will be dark all day? You know it won’t. Now if God did not control the order and motion of the sun, do you think it would come up every day and at the right time? But it’s been doing this for 7,000 years. Why hasn’t the sun burnt out? And what about the seasons of the year? Do you think this Fall everything will come back to life and it will be Spring? No, you know it will be Fall. And what follows Fall, Summer? No, you know it will come Winter. No one can deny there is an order in the world and universe, but we don’t control it. And it is very big too. Someone very powerful must be controlling it, and that someone has revealed himself as the Triune God.
In heaven, a man will have a mansion, ‘’ In my Father’s house there are many mansions.’’ St. John 14:2. You will never tire, because your body will be glorified. You will see incomprehensible beauties that ‘’eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, nor hath it even entered into the heart of man, what things God hath prepared for them that love him.’’ 1 Cor. 2:9. Those who go to heaven will never be sick again, they will never suffer an injury again. They will never be sad nor unhappy. They will never get tired. They will be able to move around like the angels. On the other hand, there will be no rest for the wicked, but everlasting torment in the lake of fire. ‘’Depart from me, you accursed, into everlasting fire , which was prepared for the devils and his angels,’’ St. Matt. 25:41.
I would like to ask Mr. Atheist a few questions. Mr. Atheist, in the order of nature, nothing stands in the air without something beneath it to hold it. Mr. Atheist, can you please explain what holds the moon in outer space with nothing beneath it? What holds the earth in its place? What keeps the sun on its course every day? How did the Little Dipper and the Big Dipper get up there in the stars? What holds them together in an orderly fashion? If you deny there’s a God, then you have to admit everything happens by chance. What are the odds of these things happening? There are no odds. It’s simply impossible. Man didn’t do it, and man couldn’t do it. You’re like a fool in a courtroom without a shred of evidence to back up your assertions, yet the Christian has a mountain of evidence on his side. If I told you there was no such thing as air because I couldn’t see it, you would say I was an idiot, and if I held that belief you would be right. What must God think of you? Denying something you don’t want to admit does not make it untrue. As one said said to an atheist: “I would rather be wrong with Jesus Christ, than to be right with you.’’

Some of the saints were shown visions of hell. In 1917, July 13th of that year, Our Lady of Fatima opened up the earth and showed the little children a terrifying vision of hell, demons and human souls crying out and screaming in pain. In Numbers chapter 16, it says God opened up the earth, and the bad men were swallowed alive into hell. They didn’t even die. They were swallowed alive into hell. The Blessed Virgin Mary, 400 years ago, revealed to Venerable Mary of Agreda quoted above, that hell is located in the center of the earth. So, my advice to Mr. Atheist is, You better get right with God, or as St. Padre Pio told a man who didn’t believe in hell, “You’ll believe when you get there!’’

- * Here I’m giving you the age of the earth. In Genesis it tells us about the creation of the world and its elements. It tells us man was created in the same week as the world. In the MYSTICAL CITY OF GOD, the Blessed Virgin Mary, revealing many things to Venerable Mary of Agreda, Spain, told her that Jesus was born on a Sunday, at midnight, in the year 5,199 from the creation of the world. Add 2,019 to that and you get the real age of the world. Not some stupid conjecture from scientists who say its millions or billions of years old. Man was created the same week as the world. Genesis says so. If the world was as old as scientists say, then think how much the world would have populated in all those years. Is there any Biblical evidence that Jesus was born at midnight? Yes. In the Book of Wisdom, (which the protestants didn’t think was good enough to leave in the Bible), it says, ‘’For while all things were in quiet silence, and the night was in the midst of her course, (midnight), Thy almighty word leapt down from heaven from thy royal throne, as a fierce conqueror into the midst of the land of destruction.’’ (6) (6) chapter 18:14-15. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… The word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.’’ St. John 1:1, 14. The Word is Jesus Christ, come in the flesh. He is true God and true man.
