MOTHER OF GOD LIBRARY CATALOG OF HOLY CARDS

Before I list the holy cards, I would like to share some insights from a very great saint, St. Anthony Mary Claret, whose feast day is October 24th.  He said: “No one or nothing will be able to suppress the ravages of false preaching and doctrines unless by opposing them with the preaching of priests, and the distribution of abundant good books and other holy and profitable works. O my God, I give Thee my word that I will labor, preach, write, and circulate good books and pamphlets in abundance, so as to exterminate evil by good.” He relates one story where a man 50 years old was brought back  to confession by one little holy card. One little holy card! Thirty-five years the man had been away from confession, a ring- leader and a great sinner! It is urgent that we do what we can, and quickly. The Blessed Mother revealed to the children of Fatima, “Many souls go to hell because they have no one to pray and sacrifice for them.’’ And she pointed out that, in order to save them, God wished to establish devotion to her Immaculate Heart in the world. And what are the two main conditions of this devotion? The daily rosary, note the word ‘daily,’ and the wearing of the Brown Scapular.

Is it very many souls lost? Yes, when Sr. Lucy was speaking to Fr. Lombarde, she told him, “No Father, many souls are lost. Very many.’’ Fr. Lombarde didn’t think many souls were lost. And what does the Scripture say about the great number of fools? It says, ‘’The number of fools is infinite,’’ Eccles. 1:15, and they are hard to be corrected. And how long will they burn in hell? St. Anthony Claret said ‘’A year for every leaf on every tree in the world…’’ Next time you’re driving down the road, look at all  the trees and think about how long the poor sinners will be burning in hell.’’ Count the leaves if you can! Am I doing what Our Lady of Fatima asked, to save my souls, and those of others?

  1. TO JESUS THROUGH MARY: Explains clearly with Saints and Scriptures why Catholics pray to Mary. “He who wishes to have the fruit of life, which is Jesus Christ, must have the tree of life, which is Mary.’’ – St. Louis de  Montfort. Those in Bethlehem who turned away Mary were turning away her Son.  Protestants turned away Mary and lost Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Mary is the tree of life, Jesus is the fruit. Mother Marie Paul of the Army of Mary said, “If we cut down the tree, we cut down the fruit.’’
  2. The Our Father/Hail Mary leaflet: The Our Father on one side with tips on prayer for salvation. The Hail Mary on the other side with quotes about the importance of devotion to Mary for salvation
  3. The Sacred Heart of Jesus prayer card: With the old prayer, O most holy heart of Jesus… with an important quote from St. Augustine on the necessity of prayer for salvation.
  4. 2nd Sacred Heart card, same prayer but with Our Lord’s loving complaint to St. Margaret Mary about mankind’s sad correspondence to his love. Both cards have Proverbs 23:26 on them: “My son, give me thy heart.’’
  5. 3rd Sacred Heart card with a short prayer from St. Margaret Mary and 1st Friday promises on back.
  6. Another beautiful card on the Blessed Mother, showing she was sinless, from scripture quotes, and the explanation from St. Louis de Montfort how the Hail Mary is a perfect way to bless Jesus. “In order to bless Jesus more perfectly, we begin by blessing his mother.’’
  7. Seven Sorrows of Mary brochure: Reflections on Mary’s incredible sorrows for our salvation taken mostly from the GLORIES OF MARY by St. Alphonsus de Liguori, and recommends praying for 7 virtues and the 7 gifts of the Holy Ghost .

  10. Large crucifixion card: ‘’God forbid I should glory save in the cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ.’’ Protestants ask, ‘’Why do you Catholics have Jesus on the cross?
