TERRIBLE AS AN ARMY IN BATTLE ARRAY
CANTICLES 6:9
What is interesting about this Scripture is that it’s talking about a woman, not a man, an army, or anything else, but a woman. Here is the quote: “Who is she that cometh forth as the morning rising, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in array?” Who is this woman? The Church teaches it is the Most Blessed Virgin Mary. Who is she terrible to? The demons. They fear her more than all the saints after Christ. Why did Our Lord make her so formidable to the demons? Because in the Garden, the devil tempted a woman first because he was more afraid of the man. And he was able to seduce her into believing the fruit on the tree would give them knowledge. Now both angels and devils are extremely powerful over men, so St. Louis de Montfort explained that God put the curse on the devil that a woman would overcome him, crush his head, and humble him the more. “I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.” Gen. 3:15, drbo.org.
If you are of the seed of this woman as it speaks of in Apocalypse, chapter 12, she has the power to protect you if you stay close to her, honor her as your very own mother, and be devoted to her. How do we do that? By praying her rosary every day and wearing her brown scapular. Do you want proof of this? Read the story of the airplane pilots in the 2nd World War.

Their commander taught them all how to pray the rosary, Catholic and non-Catholic alike, and one of the men told the nun years later in a school making a delivery, “Ours was the only platoon that never lost a plane, nor never lost a man!” Sr. Lucy of Fatima, who had seen the Blessed Virgin 6 times with the other two children said, “Our Lady will protect her dear ones.” In her 2nd promise, she promises to protect in a special way those who pray the rosary daily. But she insisted at Fatima that we pray it everyday.
Ecclesiaticus, 24, speaks of woman, and God tells her to take root in His elect: “And he said to me: Let thy dwelling be in Jacob, and thy inheritance in Israel, and take root in my elect,” verse 13. God wants Mary rooted in our soul like a tree so that Jesus, the fruit of life, may flourish there. This is a great secret that few understand, but St. Louis de Montfort and St. Alphonsus Liguori both explain this passage in their writings. Further down Mary says, “I am the mother of fair love…In me is all grace of the way and the truth…Come over to me, all ye that desire me, and take your fill of my fruits.” Verses 24-26. Her fruits are the graces of Jesus Christ, and we go to the tree to get the fruit. “He who wishes to have the fruit of life,” St. Louis says, “which is Jesus Christ, must have the tree of life, which is Mary.” Scripture says of her: “She is a tree of life to them that lay hold on her: and he that shall retain her is blessed.” Proverbs 3:18.
The people in Bethlehem, when they turned away the mother, were turning away her Son. “We have no room.” The same is true today. If we turn away the mother like the protestants do, we lose her Son Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. Jesus said if we don’t eat His flesh and blood in Holy Communion, we would not have life in us. St. John 6:48-69. That sounds pretty essential to salvation to me. Jesus said he was “living bread,” not ‘’symbolic bread.” Those who are very devoted to Mary are led back to Jesus in the Eucharist. That is why you will see so many devotees of Mary going to daily Mass to receive Our Lord in Holy Communion for the life of their soul.
This is an invitation for all protestants to come back to Mary and the true Church for their salvation. For she leads us back to Jesus who is the life of our souls, but he explicitly says we will not have life without Holy Communion. So, saying that you’ve accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour is not enough, according to Jesus: “Amen, amen, I say unto you: Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall have no life in you.” St. John 6:54. If you were going to another country, would you not make sure you got on the right plane? Sure you would. It’s the same with the Church. You have to be in the right Church to be saved. For those who find Mary will find Jesus, the life of their souls. “He that shall find me, shall find life, and have salvation from the Lord.”
